You’ve been arguing about it for twenty minutes.
You don’t think you’re wrong. You’ve explained yourself twice, and the second time somehow made things worse.
They’re irritated now.
“So what do you want me to say?”
You’re tired of this. “Nothing.”
“No, seriously. What do you want?”
“I said nothing. Forget it.”
They’re quiet for a moment.
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
The argument is over. Except you’re still angry.
An hour later, you’re washing dishes harder than they need to be washed.
They walk into the kitchen. “You’re still mad.”
“No, I’m not.”
They look at you.
You keep washing.
“I said I’m fine.”
