“No.”
“Don’t be difficult.”
Someone takes your hand. Someone leads you anyway. Maybe it’s a hug. Maybe it’s sitting on someone’s lap. Maybe it’s joining an activity you don’t want to join.
“It’ll only take a minute.”
Everyone else seems comfortable. Nobody asks why you said no. Nobody asks what made you pull away. The day goes on.
