I Can’t Deal With One More Thing

Most of the time, I keep things going. I go to work. Pay the bills. Take care of what needs to be taken care of. It might not be pretty, but I manage.

Then something else happens.

The car needs fixing. Someone asks me for a favor. An unexpected bill shows up. Plans change at the last minute. Something breaks that I don’t have the time or money to deal with.

And suddenly I can’t deal with one more thing.

It doesn’t even have to be a big thing. Sometimes I know I’m overreacting. I can hear myself getting angry or upset about something that should be manageable.

But I don’t have anything left for it.

I’ll deal with it because I have to. I usually do.

I just wish life would stop adding things for a while.

Everything is manageable as long as nothing else happens.
