Something always hurts.

My neck is stiff. My lower back is bothering me. I have a headache. My jaw is sore and I realize I’ve been clenching it again.

Usually it’s nothing serious. It’s just always something.

One thing gets better and then I notice something else. My shoulder has been bothering me for a week. My back hurts when I get out of bed. By the end of the day, my neck feels like a rock.

I stretch. Move around. Take something if it’s bad enough. Usually it settles down eventually.

Then something else starts.

I don’t think of myself as being in pain. If someone asks how I’m feeling, I usually say I’m fine.

I am fine.

I just can’t remember the last time nothing hurt.
