I Thought This Was Just Getting Older

I figured I was just getting older.

I don’t have the energy I used to have. I don’t bounce back as quickly. If I don’t sleep well, I feel it all day.

Things bother me more than they used to. Noise. Crowds. Too much going on at once. Sometimes I just want people to leave me alone.

My memory isn’t as good either. I walk into a room and forget why I’m there. I lose track of what I was saying. It takes me longer to get my brain going some days.

And everything seems to take more out of me. A busy day. An argument. Being around people for too long. Sometimes I need the rest of the day just to recover.

I know some of that is probably age. That’s what I’ve always assumed.

I’m getting older.

Of course I don’t feel the way I used to.
