I’m Exhausted, but I Can’t Relax

All day, I look forward to finally being able to stop.

I get home tired. I don’t want to talk to anyone. I don’t want to go anywhere. I just want to sit down and relax. Then I can’t.

I check my phone. Get up for something. Sit back down. Remember something I forgot to do. Start watching something and realize twenty minutes later that I haven’t been paying attention.

Sometimes I’m too tired to do anything, but I still can’t settle.

So I keep moving around. Keep looking for something to watch. Keep checking things. Keep waiting to feel like the day is finally over.

Eventually I go to bed.

And somehow I’m still not relaxed.
