Somehow there’s always drama.

Someone at work is pissed off. A friend isn’t speaking to somebody. Somebody said something they shouldn’t have said, and now everyone is talking about it.

I try to stay out of it, but somehow I always end up in the middle. Someone calls me to tell me what happened. Someone wants me to take their side. I say something to the wrong person, or somebody misunderstands what I meant, and suddenly I’m part of it too.

Relationships aren’t much better. Things can be fine for a while, and then there’s an argument. Somebody gets jealous. Somebody stops talking. Somebody threatens to leave. Then everything settles down until the next thing happens.

Even my family is like this. There’s always somebody upset about something.

Sometimes I look at other people’s lives and wonder why they seem so much simpler.

Maybe I just know a lot of difficult people.

I don’t know.

But somehow there’s always drama.
