Something happens in the morning and I’m still thinking about it six hours later.

Maybe someone was rude to me. Maybe I got an email that pissed me off. Maybe something went wrong that shouldn’t have been a big deal.

But I can’t seem to let it go. I replay what happened. I think about what I should have said. I get irritated all over again. Then I realize I’ve been thinking about the same thing for half the afternoon.

I try to move on. I do other things. I tell myself it’s over and there’s nothing I can do about it now.

But it’s still there.

By evening, I’m tired and in a bad mood. The thing itself might have lasted five minutes.

Somehow, it ruined my whole day.
